I’ve decided to stop saying that I will hopefully get around to posting more often. It seems that’s counter productive and a sure way to get me to not post for another month.
In the mean time this summer has been so strange. It seems like it’s gone by so slow but at super fast at the same time. My summer days are pretty consistent. Get up and get ready for the day, get Colby’s medications, relieve his night nurse if I have one that night, then hold or sit by Colby for the rest of the day watching either cartoons like Danny Phantom, Woody Woodpecker, Kick Buttowski, or his absolute favorite movie of all time Blackhawk Down. Yes, I know that’s not the best movie for a 7 year old but what can I say he goes to sleep during the fighting. No joke I swear machine gun fire is like a lullaby for the kid.
We’ve had some exciting things happen. If you are LDS then you will understand, if not you can visit the official church website to learn more. John was able to have all of his ordinances and blessings restored in the middle of July. I cannot even begin to explain the difference in him since his tumor removal. The anger, the aggression it’s gone. He’s been going to church and he is now the Elders Quorum presidency. I told him when we were first married that I would wait to go through the temple until he could take me. Little did I know it would take ten years! Anyway, I was able to go through and take out my endowments this last Saturday. This Friday on August 3rd we will take our family to be sealed together for time and all eternity. August 3rd also happens to be our ten year wedding anniversary! I started thinking two years ago that it would be cool if he was ready in time to schedule it on our ten year anniversary but I kind of put it out of my head because of other things that were going on, but when we found out in July that the process of him getting back his blessings was complete we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to do it on that date!
A friend of mine is going to take a couple family pictures for us after the sealing so I promise I’ll make sure to post them. It just might not happen right away.
Here are a couple more pictures from this summer until then.
- Riley can’t do anything the easy way! Sliding upside down.
- Jahnna’s self portrait. That girl loves to take pictures.
- Jahnna showing off her new hat.
- Colby’s new skwezers bedsheet from Etsy. It’s awesome and helps him feel snug and secure in his bed. During the summer he gets to hot to use it but in another month it will be back on. Please disregard the look on my face!
